Copyright Protection and Registration Aren't the Same Thing
Copyright generally arises when original expression is fixed in a tangible medium. Federal registration can provide important additional benefits, including procedural requirements for certain infringement lawsuits involving U.S. works. It does not protect ideas, systems, methods, or titles by themselves.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does my manuscript need to be finished when I enroll?
No. This offer is designed for Pen to Profits participants who are still working on their manuscripts. Timing and eligibility are governed by the engagement agreement, including any six-month submission window.
Are government filing fees included?
No. The $597 package price does not include applicable U.S. Copyright Office fees.
Does copyright protect my book title or business method?
Generally, copyright does not protect short titles, ideas, processes, or methods themselves. The registration relates to eligible original expression in the work.
What if my work is not eligible?
Eligibility, conflicts, refunds, and the point at which fees become nonrefundable are determined under the written engagement terms. Please review those terms before purchasing.
